In the wake of so much gin violence in today's society, many school's are opting for no tolerence weapons policies in which no weapons of any kind are tolerated.

Today in history: Civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr. was shot as he stood on the second story balcony of his motel in Memphis, Tennessee. King, who had recently turned his attention to issues of economic inequality, was in town to support a sanitation workers’ strike. Riots broke out across the country following King’s death.

Definition of Self-Efficacy:
Half the battle of being successful is believing in yourself and your abilities. If you believe you can, then you are much more likely to succeed to at whatever you are trying to do. The belief that you can accomplish something if you put your mind to it is called self-efficacy.

Zach had protested that indeed students should be allowed to say whatever they want in class because it was their First Amendment right to do so. While it would seem that the Bill of Righs does grant students this right - it does not entirely give students the right to just say anything. Your assignment today is to do the following (you may write your responses on a sheet of paper or you can type them in Microsoft Word):

2. Provide a brief summary of that court case
3. Make a list of 3 rights studnets have in school and list 3 things students are not permitted to do in school based upon the a student's First Amendment Rights.
